As a design principal and practice leader for master planning and hospitality, John delivers intensity and passion for the creative process. His ability to harness innovative and strategic thinking with the architectural design process transforms the built environment into an experiential masterpiece, a key for any destination development. His ability to craft appropriate design solutions and architecturally create a story for each project has garnered him international accolades and awards, as well as being published in major articles. John has worked on a variety of international commissions from countries as diverse as Vietnam, Iraq, Oman, and Australia.

Prior to AE7, John was one of the founding principals of Burt Hill Dubai office and created the company’s most significant destination developments and hospitality projects. Born in Seoul, Korea and educated in Hong Kong and the US, John’s career spans over 18 years as a creative and design director for major architecture, exhibit design and communication firms, providing architecture, design, advertising, marketing and creative management experience solutions. John has a bachelor’s of Architecture from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University and has lived and worked in the US, Hong Kong, Australia and Dubai.
