Canon – McMillan school district experienced in late 90’s rapid growth in student enrollment, and the existing single-storey facility underwent renovation by creating efficient and functional double-storey classroom wings. The addition provides an atrium space bringing natural day light into the internal walls of the classrooms whilst delineating the primary circulation and entry access to the rooms. In the new addition multi media and modern telecommunications technology was incorporated into the design of the school to compliment the advanced educational program. The renovation included the addition of a new gymnasium facility with an elevated indoor running track. AE7 partners were involved in this project as the designers, managers and directors of Burt Hill’s offices, and managed the Client and team on a daily basis.
