Financial Administrator

Our Pittsburgh office is seeking a detail-oriented financial administrator to optimize our financial management procedures. You will be contributing to financial planning, preparing financial reports, and implementing best practices in financial administration. Ideally, this position also has the capabilities to extend into HR functions as well based on the candidates capabilities for these roles.

To ensure success as a financial administrator, you should possess extensive knowledge of accounting principles and experience in a similar role. A top-notch financial administrator will be someone whose expertise translates into optimized financial processes and compliance with industry regulations.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting relevant financial data
  • Evaluating and optimizing financial controls and procedures
  • Updating daily transaction records and assisting with payroll administration
  • Managing accounts receivable and payable, as well as expenses
  • Project invoicing to clients
  • Keeping records of invoices and tax payments, as well as reviewing and processing reimbursements
  • Preparing income statements, balance sheets, and budgets
  • Identifying financial liabilities and performing risk analysis on liquidity and cash flow
  • Resolving account discrepancies and performing account reconciliations
  • Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and best practices in financial administration
  • Prepare monthly/yearly close and present financial analysis
  • Preparing financial reports for leadership and project managers
  • Tracking project financials with project managers
  • Work with project managers for timely invoicing to clients
  • Assist with 401K plan reviews and periodic reviews with agency and employees
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to enable continual improvements in the efficiency of the Organization

  • Updating company policies and ensuring legal compliance
  • Acting as the point of contact for employee employment queries
  • Assist with recruiting functions and/or evaluating recruiting agencies
  • Assist with annual employee benefits renewal
  • Assist with annual insurance policy renewals
  • Assist with employee visa processing
  • General Human resource functions as needed
  • Participate in special projects
  • Other office management duties as needed

 

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or finance, CMA or CPA desired but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software platform(s)
  • In-depth knowledge of financial controls and accounting standards
  • Extensive experience in financial reporting
  • Strong working knowledge of complete accounting cycle
  • Strong Excel experience
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Superb organizational and time management abilities

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint software is highly desired
  • Able to multi-task in a self-directed environment
  • Excellent collaboration, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willing to take on any task where needed
