Profile

Florian Klein is the leader of AE7’s office in Oberhausen, Germany and the Head of the Landscape Architecture practice for the company.

Florian enjoys working with people, which translates well to his client management responsibilities. He invests his time in involving the client from the beginning of the project through its multiple phases, believing that this mutual collaboration from the client and the designer ultimately creates a stronger, more successful finished product. In maintaining this close relationship, Florian also strives to be sensitive toward budgetary concerns, and allow proper time for design execution so as to not stray from the project’s ultimate completion goals.

Florian is a multifaceted designer whose flexible nature allows him to transition easily from project to project. He seeks to incorporate elements that encourage access and interaction for all people—a philosophy that is inspired by his volunteer gardening with disabled people, and his interest in dwellings designed for people with disabilities. These qualities are evident in his diverse portfolio, which includes projects throughout Germany and the MENA region. In Germany, Florian has worked on residential development, governmental, streetscape, infrastructure, and industrial projects, including the University District in Essen. His MENA projects include the Marina District Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the Savanna Resort in Sharm El Shiekh, Egypt, and the Lagoons in Dubai’s Business Bay, Dubai, UAE. Since joining AE7 in 2015, that list has expanded to include the Deira Waterfront and Meydan One master plans, and the District One residential community from Phase I to all additional phases. Florian and his team in Oberhausen have added a new level of dimensionality and innovation to a multitude of AE7 projects, especially regarding sustainability and environmental consciousness.
