With over 30 years of engineering and management experience, Shef brings expertise in overseeing business operations, client relationships, staff and projects management. He supervises nearly 200 MEP engineers and REVIT designers who are working on projects in the MENA, Central Asia, and beyond. Shef is never shy to roll up his sleeves and get involved with engineering projects from the pre-concept stage and all the way through construction management. Shef is known to regularly check in with authorities’ engineers to discuss their latest codes and standards, and to visit the construction sites to observe the contactors progress and quality of work on his projects. Further, Shef develops, fosters, and maintains client relationships by ensuring that they are receiving the best engineering solutions in the most economical methods, and that all their expectations are met.

Shef’s dynamic portfolio includes engineering healthcare facilities, hotels and resorts, retail, educational, residential and commercial developments throughout North America and the Middle East. After an international upbringing, Shef landed in Wichita, Kansas where he attended university before starting his MEP career in Houston, Texas. While in Houston, Shef worked on several healthcare facilities in the Texas Medical Center, including St. Luke’s Episcopal, Memorial Hermann, Texas Children’s, and the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Shef also led MEP engineering teams to design multiple developments in Jerusalem, West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and UAE. Since joining AE7 in January of 2015, Shef has worked closely with his in-house architects on many prominent projects including the Imperial College of London Diabetes Center, Abu Dhabi Military Hospital, Meydan Beach Hotel, Palm 360, Entisar Tower, Deira Island, and Meydan One.

As a leader, Shef makes himself available to his team members where he offers broad perspective, mentoring, and effective staff management. Shef encourages and supports emerging leaders as he believes cultivating new leadership is ultimately beneficial to both the individuals and the company. His ability to speak to his staff as an engineer first and as a manager second encourages an intellectual dialogue that yields worthwhile results. Through this philosophy, Shef has built a talented team of highly trained, skilled, motivated and dedicated individuals within the AE7 organization.
