Duolingo is the largest language-learning platform in the world relocated its headquarters into a new office space in East Liberty.
AE7 design transformed a former solid masonry furniture building into a modern office space. A large outdoor staff terrace overlooking Penn Ave and 14 large window openings were added to the building façade to allow daylighting into the space. All the workstations are located along the windows, providing natural sunlight to the entire staff. Two high tech conference rooms are set at the face of the office offering space for visual presentations and audio privacy. Additional booth-like meeting nooks sprinkled throughout the center. An open layout enhances the flow of information and promotes teamwork.
Duolingo’s office is equipped with a full prep and service kitchen and chef to cater staff meals, a cafeteria, a game/activity zone and a 4-room “quiet zone”. This zone includes a “quiet room” designated for audio recordings.
