Our Design team was tasked with designing a new headquarters for Postnova, a fast growing high-tech company that provides analytical solutions for biopharmaceutical, nano particle and macromolecular applications. The client’s brief required a building with flexible floor plans, easily replicable, to accommodate phased future expansion. Program for the first phase includes research labs, production, storage, customer care center, cafeteria, administration offices and 1,200 sqm of leasable office space. The G+2 building comprises of two identical wings organized around a triple-height central courtyard. The U shaped building can be mirrored in future phases to enclose the court yard on all sides. The skylight-covered courtyard brings daylight to the interiors reducing dependency on artificial lighting and acts as the main gathering and circulation hub. On the exterior, the east and west facades are covered with a metal screen that not only reduces heat gain and glare but it also visually reflects the process of particle separation and segregation that is at the core of the company’s work.
