Construction begins on Novo Asian Food Hall in the Strip District

Construction has started on Novo Asian Food Hall at Terminal Building in the Strip District. The project, overseen by restaurateurs Mike Chen of Everyday Noodles and Alex Tang of Mola, is anticipated to open this summer.

Tang and Chen chose the name Novo for the 8,600-square-foot space because it means “new” in many languages.

“It’s something new for Pittsburgh, as simple as that,” says Tang, noting that the destination will allow for visitors to enjoy the diversity of cuisines from several Asian countries in one location.

The Pittsburgh-based architectural firm AE7 is spearheading the design, which, according to a press release, “is inspired by the vibrant streets of Asian cities and villages, creating a colorful, eclectic, and energetic ambiance.”
