Dubai’s District One is set in the heart of a desert metropolis, intertwined with a pristine, seven kilometers stretch of man-made lagoon. This complex infrastructure scheme accounts for power supply, zoning regulations, stormwater solutions, and access to an underground metro, among the many other qualities that ensure a city runs smoothly. Our design team collaborated with the developer to build multiple electricity substations on site, while finding ways to keep power lines out of sight. Constructing the lagoon involved providing new bridges and routing complex traffic patterns. Within a stone’s throw of the miraculous Crystal Lagoons and its fourteen kilometers of new beachfront, our team designed thousands of new residences, including apartments, villas, mansions, all with pristine views of the water. Our design team approached this complex infrastructure project with expertise and ingenuity, seamlessly integrating its elements into this new urban community.
