Imperial College of London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC) is a one-stop, state-of-the-art, out-patient facility that specializes in diabetes treatment, research, training and public health awareness. Here patients benefit from every element of the design, from thoughtful pedestrian and vehicular circulation to medical facilities that improve the flow and ergonomics of consultation and treatment.
Building upon the design of ICLDC’s existing Abu Dhabi campus, this new structure further prioritizes patient relaxation, peace, and confidence through an understated elegance that distinguishes all interior spaces, including physician offices and waiting areas arranged around a skylit atrium. The building’s façade’s materials and shapes incorporates client’s branding while also integrating climate-responsive, cost-efficient aluminum screening. In all, the new ICLDC extends and improves patient experience in an already trusted, world-class healthcare system.
