The Deira Night Market is an inclusive waterfront destination that introduces and anchors Dubai’s developing Deira Islands. It creates an after-dusk international shopping port, featuring a 2 kilometers (~1.2 miles) stretch of boardwalks and marinas alongside a unique market experience. Strategically placed breezeways and water features cool the air and enhance comfort while minimizing environmental impact. Visitors navigate the market’s modular villages and plazas via the winding waterway that runs around dozens of arched structures, which contain thousands of shops and kiosks. Accessible by ferry, car, or small boat, the marketplace comes to life at night when the boardwalk is filled with people enjoying shopping and bayside restaurants. The many vaulted structures, complemented with detailed latticework, glow from within, lit by beacons that sit atop each arched roof, creating a constellation of miniature lighthouses across the landscape.
